Training
The Academy for Applied Photography provides the basic technical knowledge of photography both in theory and in practice, and serves as an aid in finding one’s artistic style, all in a one year evening course.
Free expression in personal photography is made possible by the use of the Herman Herzele method, different special teaching elements and an individually targeted education.
Guests such as Photographers, but also Painters, Musicians, Writers and Film Makers amongst others give talks and hold workshops, in order to give the participants of the course more of an insight into their individual, creative works.
Requirements
Completed primary school. Previous photographic knowledge is an advantage but is not a requirement for being accepted on the course, as camera techniques, dark room techniques and digital techniques are taught.
Age and occupation are not relevant. The applicant should send a portfolio or CD (type and size are up to the applicant) to the academy along with a short biography. The next meeting of the selection committee will be on the 23rd of June 2010. Artistic works in all directions (Painting, Literature, Film, Music…..) are allowed in the application.
Bigger exhibition pieces can be handed in daily at the Geidorf cinema as of 5pm.
Participants
The chosen applicants, who handed in work will be invited to a personal interview. Applicants who will not be invited, will receive their pieces of work back by post.
The earlier the work is handed in, the earlier the applicant will hear as to whether he/ she has been accepted or not.
The selected applicants for the year 2007/ 2008 will be notified following personal interviews.
The number of participants for the Academy of Applied Photography is limited – two groups, each with 19 students - (except students on the waiting list).
